Not only is taking care of my skin important to me but something I’m blessed to be able to do. Having a skincare routine has brought me many benefits such as the obvious, healthy skin. Not to mention an increased appreciation for my natural face and the confidence to show it to the world.
Step 1: Double Cleanse
I actually started to do this because I recently got into make-up. The oil cleanser was only meant to be used for the days when I wore it. However, I found that it was also amazing for removing the extra grease and dirt for the days when I wasn’t wearing make-up.
Oil Cleanser
Generally, when using the oil cleanser I press one pump of it into my palms. Then rub my hands together and massage the oil onto my face gently and let it work its magic. Around two minutes later I wash it off using warm water.
Gel Cleanser
Once I’ve washed off the oil cleanser, I go in with my OG gel cleanser, Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser. I’ve been using this cleanser for years and I love it! Not only is this gentle AF, but it leaves your face feeling squeaky clean. Just like the oil cleanser I gently massage the gel cleanser onto my face for around two minutes and then I wash it off using warm water.

Step 2: Tone
The toner I am currently using is the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner. I really like this toner because it’s moisturising and it helps to get rid of any remaining dirt that both my cleansers may have missed. Generally what I do with this toner is apply some of it onto a cotton pad and then gently sweep it across my face.

Step 3: BHA or Niacinamide
Once I’ve toned I either use the Cosrx BHA Power Liquid or The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I found both products have been great for dealing with acne, which is great for me as one of my skin concerns is dealing with the odd annoying spot. I tend not to use both of these products in the same routine as it’s too much for my skin to handle.

Step 4: Hyaluronic Acid
The next step to my morning skincare routine is using Hyaluronic Acid. I love Hyaluronic Acid because it leaves my skin hydrated. What I like to do is rub the product into my palms and lightly pat the serum onto my skin. I do this as I find this method a lot less harsh than rubbing the product in.

Step 5: Moisturise
Moisturising is essential for any skincare routine, hence why I do it. The moisturiser I’m currently using is The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA. I like this moisturiser as it’s cheap and effective, like most of The Ordinary products.

Step 6: Sun Protection
As I am using acids it’s essential to use sunscreen as acids increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. The sunscreen I’m using at the moment is The Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Screen. I like this sunscreen as it’s dark skin-friendly and lightweight.
I only use this in the morning, not at night as obviously the sun doesn’t’ shine then

Step 7: Oil
For my final step, I like to use a lightweight oil to seal in all the magic. The current oil I’m using is The Ordinary Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil.

Final Thoughts
So there you have it, my skincare routine! A long-winded process that provides the much-needed benefits that my skin deserves.
